- 1X2
- A betting market where you choose either the home team to win (1), a draw (X), or the away team to win (2).
- Acca
- A single bet that links multiple selections, and all must win for the bet to pay out.
- Asian Handicap
- A handicap that gives one team a virtual advantage or disadvantage to remove the draw and create balanced odds.
- Bankroll Management
- The practice of setting aside a specific amount of money for betting and only risking a small percentage per wager.
- Bet Builder
- An online tool that lets you combine multiple markets from a single match into one custom wager.
- Both Teams to Score
- A bet on whether both sides will score at least one goal during the match.
- Cash Out
- A feature that lets you settle a bet before the event ends, locking in a profit or cutting a loss.
- Double Chance
- A bet that covers two of the three possible outcomes (home win or draw, away win or draw, etc.) to increase your chance of winning.
- Edge
- An advantage you have over the bookmaker’s odds, usually arising from better information or analysis.
- Fade
- To bet against a popular selection or a known bettor’s pick.
- First Goalscorer
- A bet on which player will score the first goal in the match.
- In-Play
- Betting that takes place after the match has started, with odds that update as the game progresses.
- Juice
- The commission or fee that a bookmaker adds to the odds, also called vigorish.
- Kelly Criterion
- A mathematical formula that calculates the optimal percentage of your bankroll to bet based on your perceived edge.
- Middle
- A situation where you bet on both sides of a point spread and win both if the final score lands in the middle.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals scored in a match will be more or less than a set number.
- Parlay
- A type of accumulator bet where you combine two or more selections and all must win to get a return.
- Public Money
- Bets placed by casual players, often causing odds to shift toward the popular side.
- Reverse Line Movement
- When odds move opposite to where most public bets are placed, often indicating smart money action.
- Stake
- The amount of money you place on a bet.
- Steam
- Rapid movement of odds on a market, usually because many bettors are placing similar bets.
- Unit
- A standard measure of bet size, often a small fraction of your total bankroll, used to keep wagering consistent.
- Value Bet
- A bet where the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome, giving you an expected edge.
- xG
- A metric that estimates the number of goals a team should have scored based on the quality and location of their shots.
